With the intention of supporting the outstanding work of emerging photographic talent in Vancouver, the Buildex Vancouver Conference and Exposition hosted its inaugural Northern Exposure Photo Contest. The objective of the contest was to generate eye-catching portrayals of Vancouver’s latest progressive architectural projects.
Interest in the competition was impressive — over 200 submissions were received. The quality of submissions was equally impressive and the final selection of three winners was not an easy undertaking. A panel of industry experts judged the submissions according to artistic expression, originality, composition and image quality. Ultimately we feel our final selections capture the essence of new architecture and design in Vancouver.
Chris Collacott’s winning photograph, along with second and third place winners and Honourable Mentions, will be featured at an onsite exhibition at the 2010 Buildex Vancouver Conference and Exposition on April 21-22 at the new Vancouver Convention Centre. This exhibit will provide the photographers with a rare opportunity for exposure to over 10,000 industry professionals. The top photos will also be featured in the Buildex Vancouver marketing campaign.
